It was another BEAUTIFUL SoFlo day. There are still a few people out enjoying the gorgeous beach as the day winds down on the 1st day of 2013! We were looking out at all the beach-goers and thinking what a blessing it is to live in a state where on New Years’ Day the temperature is 75 degrees and its a perfect beach day!!!
That got me to thinking about the fact that at the start of every year, most people are resolving to get their health and fitness in order. Believe me, I am no different! I have set new fitness goals for this year and I am totally pumped about achieving them. I have even committed to a half marathon in March among others. No small deal for the girl who flunked Phys. Ed. every year in school LOL. Yikes! (smile)
Thankfully, Weston is home to one of the best fitness and health experts in the industry – Michelle Marie Diaz. I am proud to say that Michelle has been my fitness coach and mentor for many years and I have seen her change many lives for the better with her knowledge, expertise, passion and deep commitment for what she does. She totally rocks!!!
Some of the most important things that Michelle has taught me are:
- No matter how busy I am, I can fit working out into my schedule if I commit to it. With her extensive exercise library on her youtube channel I have no shortage of great workouts I can do right in my living room if I can’t make it in to the gym that day or even in a hotel room if I’m traveling.
- Working out is only half the battle – how I eat is critical if I want to achieve my health and fitness goals. Eating ‘clean’ is just as important and guess what ~ eating ‘clean’ is actually super yummy! She has not only taught me the principles of clean eating but also shares on a daily basis great, healthy and yummy recipes that my whole family loves.
Now that the holidays have wound to a close, tomorrow starts my re-focused and amped up commitment to achieve new heights in my health and fitness in 2013!
